Skype for Business does not connect with outlook
Skype for business will make a connection with outlook using the MAPI link.
Consequences of a non-functioning MAPI link are:
Contacts are not displayed in the search list.
Incoming call pop-ups do not display the names of incoming calls.
Diagnose
To check the status of the MAPI link, hold down CTRL and right-click on the Skype for Business taskbar icon.
Then look in the list for MAPI status.
There are a number of different status:
Status | Description |
---|---|
MAPI OK | Everything is fine and your MAPI link works. |
MAPI Unavailable | The link with Outlook has not been made. |
Solution
Important points for establishing this link are as follows;
User account in Skype for Business and outlook must match. The SMTP and SIP address must be the same.
Outlook must be started.
The SMTP address must be your default address in Outlook.
