The very first step that must be made for linking to the VO365 environment is to create a VPN connection between your network and that of VO365. This can be done through two techniques. These are described in Table 1-1.

TechnicDescription
IPsecThe most secure method to make a connection between two networks. This technique is supported by most firewall software. This technique has been carried out redundantly at VO365.
PPTP

This technique was set up at VO365 in a RRAS server. Here the connection is not redundant. PHASED OUT

Network requirements

  • The routes to reach the internal DCs to connect the user sources must NOT be explicitly used for the clients. SoftApp distribution does not support traffic across the tunnel outside the traffic coming from the ADs . The clients on your subnet can not have routes to 192.168.184.0/24. If this is the case, calls can not be made or screen sharing is not possible. This problem arises because a VIA of internal servers is included in the SIP messages. The client will see that this route exists and try to route the traffic over it. Therefore make sure that the route over the VPN is only available for the internal servers.
