To use the Voice mail, it is important to make a link with a Unified Messaging dial plan.Voor het gebruik maken van de Voice mail is het belangrijk om een koppeling te maken met een Unified Messaging dial plan. 

Important for BUSINESS PREMIUM: users who want to use Voicemail must be in possession of Exchange Online Plan 2

Office administration portal

Step 1

Go to the Exchange Admin Center on portal.office.com and open Unified Messaging .


Step 2

Create a new UM dial plan.

  • Name: generic name
  • Extension length: 5
  • Dial plan type: SIP URI
  • VoIP security mode: Unsecured
  • Country Region Code: 31

Enable users for O365 UM. In the Exchange Admin Center, go to Users and select your user.

Click on Edit Exchange Properties . Click Enable under Phone and Voice Features → Unified Messaging. Select Browse ... in the subsequent window. Select the UM Mailbox Policy from the list. Click Ok .

Step 4

Check in the next page that the SIP address is the same as the address with which the user logs in to Skype for Business. And fill in an extension number that belongs to the user. These numbers are assigned to you from SoftApp.

The voice of O365 Adminstration portal


To enable Hosted Voicemail for a user enable the hosted voicemail option in the voice of o365 portal.

Step 1

Modify the voice policy to include the tenant name App policies >> Voicemail policies.


Step 2

Modify the policy you want to add to the user. And change the tenant name and server address like below. Click save when done.


Step 3

Open the users in Users >> Users and select Hosted Voicemail

And assign the voicemail policy and click update.
