Devices: IPHONE

Explanation

Once By default,if the user didn't sign out the Skype for Business mobile client is signed in on a phone it registers on our servers. Once registered as a device it will only de-register after a certain period of time.it will switch to run on the background and change status to "inactive", and after some while(maybe an hour or more) it will sign out automatically.

On iPhone and iPad, Skype for Business signs out automatically if the user has not used the application for a period of time, as follows:

  • Skype for Business signs out after 1 day. Skype for Business sends a push notification indicating that the user must sign back in.

On Android and Nokia (Symbian), Skype for Business remains signed in as long as the application can contact the server. Contact with the server occurs automatically every 5 minutes, even if Lync is in the background or the device is locked.

Solution

Make sure all your devices are signed out. Check the user Devices and registrations overview in the portal for any device registrations. If there is no logout recorded on an device, logout this device.

If Skype for Business is running in the background on these phones, users will receive push notifications as long as the session expiration interval has not expired. The mobile device must send a notice to the server indicating that the device is still active before the session timeout is reached. If it does not, the device will be listed as inactive and the user will have to log back on to the system. On iPhone and Windows mobile this happens after 2 hours1 day. On Android this happens after 1 hour.
